Left to right: Sr. Agnes Marie Vandecoevering, Sr. Clare Vandecoevering and Sr. Anne Vandecoevering

Sunday, Sept. 24 was a special day for the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon Community as the Sisters Vandecoevering – Sister Agnes Marie, Sister Anne and Sister Clare – returned to Visitation Catholic Church in Verboort, Oregon, for a special Mass and luncheon in their honor.

Now living in our Motherhouse, the Sisters were honored for their decades of service in Verboort. The day began with a Mass in which Father Michael Vuky paid tribute to the Sisters and a youth choir sang a special song for them.

Sr. Clare and Sr. Anne were teachers at Visitation School. Sr. Anne also served as principal of the school. Sr. Agnes supported the school through religious education, lunch duty and housekeeping.

Mass was followed by a joyful luncheon, where the Sisters received thanks from members of the parish community. Many of our Sisters traveled to Verboort to join in the celebration.

We thank everyone who made the day so special for our Sisters Vandecoevering!
