STUDENT COUNCIL

Student Council gives students the opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills. Faculty advisors take the lead in planning student-driven service projects, assist with prayer services and assemblies, and plan special activities that will promote school spirit. The program is designed to help them cultivate an interest and desire to participate actively in civic and faith-based organizations in adult life. Student Council gives students an opportunity to connect with their principal and other advisors as well.

Each Tuesday at lunchtime, the student council members gather together to discuss class projects, ways to demonstrate school pride and spirit, and community service efforts. Those activities are not unusual for a student council but the ages of members are. At St. Mary of the Valley School, council members range in age from 8 to 12.
