Campus Plan

Campus Plan

In 2001, the Sisters' newly elected Leadership Team, working in partnership with their Advisory Council and Soderstrom Architects, developed a comprehensive and cohesive campus plan to meet the needs of the growing region while staying true to their core values and ministries. The resulting vision is a series of building and renovation projects that will take place over the next 50 years.

Phase 1: The Valley Catholic Athletic Facility
In May 2006, work was completed on the first phase of the campus plan. The Valley Catholic Athletic Facility added a state-of-the-art double-gymnasium and competition-ready outdoor track to the campus, enabling Valley Catholic School to provide competitive athletic programming and offer a vital community gathering space for the schools and campus community.

Phase 2: The SSMO K-8 Education Center
Currently in architectural design and development, the next phase of the campus plan is a new 70,000 square-foot school that will provide families and the local community a modern facility to educate and prepare our children for service and leadership in the 21st century. The new facility will featureĀ  sustainable ('green') construction, and energy efficient design and mechanical systems.

Highlights for students will include:

  • Support for expanded, full-day kindergarten
  • Modern, state-of-art science classrooms, computer classrooms and prep labs
  • Multiple 'Wi-Fi' access points throughout the entire facility
  • Expanded library and media resource center
  • Dedicated chapel for small group/individual class worship and services
  • Cafeteria environment that is open and full of natural light and fresh air

Highlights for parents and faculty will include:

  • A centralized administration and faculty offices
  • New teacher and parent work-rooms
  • New parking areas and road enhancements

Bringing the community together
The new facility will promote even greater integration between the schools. Sixth-graders will be able to participate in middle school academic and extra curricular activities, while middle school students will be able to continue to participate in high school level classes and advanced programs. In addition, new community spaces will enable students and families to participate in special religious, cultural and academic activities and celebrations.
