ACTIVITIES

It's a typical morning at Little Flower Development Center,
where one can find our Rosebuds (Infants) strolling around
campus enjoying the fresh air.
On the playground, some Daisies and Sunflowers (Preschoolers)
run, jump, ride tricycles or head down the slide while others
are tending to their gardens.
Inside, Daffodils (Toddlers) are painting and Wildflowers
(Preschoolers) are singing and praying. The children are
so excited to learn and grow.
As we interact with
our teachers and our friends, we are learning life skills.
As we build relationships with others, we are secure in the
knowledge that we are loved.
At Little Flower, we believe that children learn through play.
Children have opportunities to make choices and decisions, manipulate
materials and use language in meaningful ways, and learn at their individual
pace.

Our daily activities include concepts related
to:
Spiritual values
Language and literacy
Science
Logic and mathematics
Social relationships
Music and movement
Art
Dramatic Play
Small and large motor skills
On field trips, our children enjoy visits to: children's theatre
productions, parks, OMSI,
the Oregon Zoo, ice skating rinks, and a pumpkin patch, among others.
Our all-school activities include centerwide prayer each morning, ice cream socials,
a Christmas program, goal-setting
and assessment conferences, and home visits.

We strongly encourage parents to become involved in our program
by participating in classroom activities, helping out on field
trips and attending school functions and fundraisers including the SSMO Campus Schools' annual auction.
We plan many special events for parents, families and children;
and we are always happy to welcome parents during our daily
activities.
At Little Flower Development Center, every child is unique.
Every day is special. |
