The Class of 1970 was the first to graduate from the new high school building. The move from the school in the convent building, as documented in the 1970 yearbook, went as follows:
"On November 20 through 24, 1969, St. Mary of the Valley was the scene of an 'exodus' all its own as the students, laden with boxes of every sort, trudged into the 'Promised Land,' the shining new school just across the road. Sister Alberta was unable to stop the rain as Moses parted the Red Sea, but not even rain could dampen the spirits of the excited students. It was a memorable event, and in spite of sore muscles and inclement weather, some of the students came each day; and some came back again in the evenings to finish the moving in only four days." |
