December Saint Reflection: Our Lady of Guadalupe

In December we honor Mary as the patroness of the Americas under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She appeared to Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin near Mexico City in 1541. It wasn’t until 2002 that the man to whom she appeared was recognized as a saint in the Catholic Church. St. Juan Diego’s feast day is December 9, and the feast day for Our Lady of Guadalupe is December 12.
