Sisters Profess Vows
Submitted by Sr. Catherine Hertel, SSMO
The Feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother on August 15 was the occasion of two Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon professing vows.
Sister Rosina Mai Pham professed temporary vows, promising to live her life in community with the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience for two years. Her brother, Rev. Ansgar Tinh Pham, SDD, presided at the Mass. Also present were her parents and family members and friends. Following the ceremony was a simple reception of cake and punch and music by Chelsea Florence. Family and friends were then invited to continue the celebration at a Vietnamese potluck at the Villa Maria on the SSMO campus.
Sister Alison Green also took the next step in her journey with the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon by renewing her vows for another three years. During these years, Sister will continue her ministry in education, vocation ministry and social justice, as well as deepening her relationship with God and the Community.
