OUR
DAILY LIVES
Charism of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon
We, the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon, living as women of
prayer in simplicity and sisterly love, are called to be
compassionate, joyful servants of the Lord.
We profess the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty,
and obedience in response to a divine call to live for God
alone.
We build our spiritual life around daily Mass and Liturgy
of the Hours, the universal prayer of the Church.
In addition,
each Sister spends at least an hour each day in private
prayer, which includes meditation, spiritual reading, the
rosary,
holy hour, and other private devotions.
Mary is our patroness, and we celebrate in special ways
on her feast days.
We make an annual retreat and affirm the need for extended
periods of time to give ourselves more fully to prayer and
reflection.
We also observe monthly recollection days.
